Consortium Meeting in Valencia: focus on Fiber Optic Sensing

In June 2024, the Smartmooring consortium gathered in Valencia for two productive days hosted by the University of Valencia and Calsens. The UPV team, developing fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor arrays to be integrated into the project's mooring components, explained their advancements and demonstrated their laboratories and FBG facilities. Calsens, developing the critical interrogation systems for Smartmooring, showcased their shape sensing technology and impressive projects in civil engineering.

The two days were filled with productive meetings and discussions. There was also time for a tour of the beautiful city of Valencia.
